During a glamorous gala, which was held on 24 April this year at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, the Vice President of the Management Board – Mr Walery Tankiewicz received an honorary award from the hands of Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship – Mr Mieczysław Struk conferred upon the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. in the category: Culture Patronage.
The award was presented to the Port Authority for regular patronage exercised over City Theatre in Gdynia, including for supporting artistic events on the Summer Stage in Orłowo, the Festival of Polish Contemporary Arts R@Port and a television production “Idąc rakiem” [Crayfish Walking] for TVP Kultura. The remaining Gryf Pomorski statuettes, in recognition of outstanding artistic performances, were awarded to three artists: Mr Michał Szlaga, Mr Wojciech Kościelniak and Mr Cezary Paciorek. The title of Pomeranian Artistic Hope was awarded to Mrs Elżbieta Benkowska, while the Great Pomeranian Artistic Award for the whole artistic output went to actress Halina Słojewska.
The Pomeranian Artistic Award is the most significant award of distinction conferred for outstanding attainments in the field of culture in Pomorskie Voivodeship.
