W dniu 31 października 2011 roku Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdynia podpisał z firmą Mostostal Warszawa umowę na przebudowę (według projektu biura projektowego Kenton) sześciopoziomowego magazynu przy ulicy Polskiej 13A, znanego gdynianom jako budynek Posti, na nowoczesny biurowiec. Po nieco ponad półtora roku intensywnych prac inwestycja została zakończona. Prawie dziewięć tysięcy metrów kwadratowych nowoczesnej powierzchni użytkowej wybudowanej za ponad 23 mln zł brutto wzbogaca ofertę gospodarczą, a atrakcyjna elewacja stanowi kolejny krok zmieniający zewnętrzny wizerunek Portu i Miasta Gdynia.

Ambassador of the Philippines on a visit to BCT on the 10th anniversary of privatisation

On the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and the Republic of the Philippines, the latter country’s ambassador Mrs Patricia Ann V. Paez visited the Baltic Container Terminal. The meeting coincided with the 10th anniversary of the company’s privatisation and its merger with the Philippine ICTSI group, managing 27 container terminals in 18 countries.

Inauguration of cruise liners season 2013

After 7-month absence in the Port of Gdynia, cruise ships are coming back. It should be noted that in 2012 cruise liners berthed at Gdynia’s quays 69 times, bringing almost 109 000 guests onboard. As it was announced, on 3 May Gdynia will welcome the huge liner of Costa Pacifica, well known in Gdynia, thus inaugurating another cruise liners season in the Port of Gdynia. Costa Pacifica, built in 2009, 290.20 m in length, and 114 147 GT of gross tonnage, was honoured with a commemorative plaque in the Passenger Ships Avenue in June 2011.

New storage building for grain at the Silesian Quay

On 2 April 2013, 02.00pm: Port of Gdynia Authority SA and Mostostal Warszawa SA officially signed an agreement for the construction of the new four-chamber storage building for grain at the Silesian Quay in the port of Gdynia. This is another project that is to increase the storage and loading capacity in the field of grain and feed handling. The ceremony was attended by: Kazimierz Plocke - Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anna Wypych-Namiotko - Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, Tadeusz Aziewicz - Member of Parliament of the RP and Chairman of the Treasury Committee, Wojciech Szczurek - President of Gdynia, Marek Stępa - Deputy President of Gdynia and Jarosław Wałęsa - Member of the European Parliament.

22 March 2013: A meeting organized in collaboration with the Department of Maritime Transport and Maritime Security of the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy was held at the premises of the Port of Gdynia Authority SA. It was devoted to the discussions on changes to the International Convention for the prevention of pollution of the sea by the MARPOL ships.

M/v "Mona Pegasus" in MTMG - Maritime Bulk Terminal Gdynia The bulk carrier m/v "Mona Pegasus" with a capacity of over 172,000 DWT, which moored at the Dutch quay in MTMG - Maritime Bulk Terminal Gdynia on Saturday (16th day of this month), is the largest ship with cargo that ever called at the harbour of the port in Gdynia. There were more than 102,000 tonnes of coal from a faraway Australia in the ship's nine holds.
