Information conference at the HQ of the Port of Gdynia Authority

On 10 September 2013 at the HQ of the Port of Gdynia Authority an information conference was held with members of the Master Mariners’ Association and the Maritime and River League devoted to presenting the project entitled “Expansion of port infrastructure for handling Ro-Ro vessels with road and rail access in the Port of Gdynia”. During the conference its participants were presented with details of this multistage investment.

The total cost of the project “Expansion of port infrastructure for handling Ro-Ro vessels with road and rail access in the Port of Gdynia” is over PLN 119 million. In this amount eligible expenditure is just under PLN 53 million. The co-funding out of EU funds awarded in accordance with agreement is almost PLN 45 million. The rest of the investment cost will be covered out of the Authority’s own funds.

The aim of the investment is to expand infrastructure to increase handling capacity in the eastern part of the port, which will allow the Port of Gdynia to maintain a competitive position in the Baltic Sea region. As part of the project we plan a more effective development of the existing surface of the port quays and more efficient handling of goods transported by sea.
