Port firefighters are the best!

The Port Fire Brigade is a fire protection unit established in the Port of Gdynia in 1930 from the Volunteer Fire Brigade.

As a fully professional firefighting unit prepared for rescue operations and maintaining a high level of fire safety of real estate in the area managed by PoGA S.A., it provides firefighting services on land and water. The port unit’s rescuers have once again proven their high level of physical fitness, this time in a completely different field, winning a valuable trophy in a football tournament.

On 25 June 2025, the annual football tournament for the ‘Cup of the Commander of the Municipal Fire Service in Gdynia and the Chairman of the Solidarity Trade Union at the State Fire Service in Gdynia’ took place at the ‘Checz Gdynia’ sports facility at 17 Zamenhofa Street in Gdynia. Nine teams from the State Fire Service and other fire protection units from Gdynia and Rumia took part in the competition.

After an extremely close and fierce battle, the winners of the cup were the port rescue team, who took first place in the final classification.

During the closing ceremony of the tournament, the cup was received by the winning team consisting of: Bikonis Mirosław, Cybulski Wojciech, Freiberg Mariusz, Jarosz Sebastian, Kwiatkowski Krystian, Małkowski Krystian, Szrejber Kamil, and the title of top scorer was also awarded to our player, Kamil Szrejber. The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Senior Firefighter Roman Reclaf – JRG 4 Gdynia Wielki Kack.
