In connection with the implementation of the EU project “Construction of an intermodal terminal in the Logistics Center of the Port of Gdynia”, co-funded under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), a contract for construction works was signed between the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. and NDI S.A., based in Sopot.
The purpose of the contract, concluded on 17 March 2025, is the comprehensive execution of works covering the construction of an intermodal terminal in the Logistics Center of the Port of Gdynia, together with the obtaining of an occupancy permit.
According to the current schedule of construction works, their completion is scheduled for August 2026. The total remuneration for the execution of the subject of the contract, according to the contractor’s offer, was set at approximately PLN 65 million gross.
The handover of the construction site, with the participation of representatives of the Port of Gdynia and the contractor – NDI S.A., along with a site visit on the future terminal site took place on 28 March 2025.
Thus, a strategic investment has begun to prepare the port infrastructure for dual civil-military use, while at the same time increasing the share of intermodal transport thanks to construction of a new intermodal rail terminal in the Logistics Center of the Port of Gdynia . The area of the new terminal is already being used to handle military cargo, as the Port of Gdynia is the main NATO naval base in Poland. The development of capabilities to handle this type of cargo fits in with the concept of strengthening the alliance’s eastern flank.
