The Management Board President, Mr. Janusz Jarosiński received this prestigious award of distinction from the Chairman of the City Council – Mr Stanisław Szwabski – this time for the office buildings at ul. Polska 13 and 13A.
The award of the Chairman of the City Council for the Best Investment of the Year in Gdynia “Gdynia Now” is conferred each year upon Gdynia’s investors, natural or legal persons who have contributed the most to the city’s development in the past year. It aims to promote the achievements of Gdynia companies. When conferring this award, the Award Committee follows the following criteria: amount of capital invested, increasing the municipality’s assets, number of workplaces created, contribution to promoting the city, architectural qualities of the site and its impact on the surroundings, upgrading residents’ living conditions, contribution to the development of tourism, environment-friendly investments and contribution to the city’s economic transformation.
The building at ul. Polska 13A, built in 1959, known to Gdynia residents as the so-called POSTI warehouse (it used to be the registered office of that company), has been transformed into a real pearl of Polska street for a gross amount of more than PLN 23 million. The modern converted building became the new location for the Gdynia Maritime School, which was previously located on the premises of Dalmor, as well as for companies – mostly from the transport and forwarding sector.
At the same time we would like to point out that prizes or “GDYNIA NOW” awards of distinction had been conferred many times previously upon entities operating in the area of Port Gdynia:
in 2011 - award of distinction for the Port of Gdynia Authority for a two-storey station for handling Ro-Ro vessels;
