Organised the second time this year, the Open Day is to present to children what the port looks like “from the inside”. With a view to that, for the first time in its history, STS Fryderyk Chopin will be moored at Helskie Quay located at BTC, and open for all the visitors throughout the day. Moreover, there will be magic shows for the children, as well as fire-fighting squad and customs officers presentations, a bouncy castle and an inflatable ship, bungee jumping, and a photo booth. The specially trained BCT employees and the Open Day staff will ensure security. All the attractions at the Terminal are free, and complementary snacks are also included.
The Organisers provided the transport for the visitors. A special, zero-fare bus (line 570) will be going from Kościuszko Square to BCT and back. Free parking spaces will also be available opposite the entrance to BCT.
A day at the Container Terminal will surely be great fun for parents and children alike. Apart from other attractions, the sole possibility of visiting the Terminal, which cannot usually be accessed, and which is a place of interest for both the residents of Gdynia and transport, logistics and infrastructure aficionados from all over the country, is surely enough reason to participate in the Open Day. The event officially announces the Sea Days beginning on 21 June.
