On 28 October this year a meeting was held between Austrian companies representing the logistics sector and a group of Polish companies from the transport and logistics sector at the headquarters of Wirtschaftskammer Osterreich in Vienna. The meeting was organized by the Polish Embassy in Vienna with the participation of the Pomeranian Marshal's Office.
The Polish side was represented, among others, by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, the Port Authorities of Gdynia and Szczecin-Swinoujscie, Pomeranian Marshal's Office, PISiL, PKP-PLK SA and representatives of the intermodal terminal operators. Presenting the potential of the Port of Gdynia, CEO of the Port Authority, Mr. Janusz Jarosiński, discussed the possibilities of handling Austrian foreign trade cargo via Port of Gdynia with particular emphasis on the Scandinavian direction. The participants unanimously emphasized that the basic condition for growth in the volume of Austrian transit cargo is to obtain high technical parameters of the road and rail infrastructure leading to Polish seaports.
On 23 October representatives of the Port of Gdynia Authority SA also participated in the next edition of the Days of the Sea in Prague, organized by the Ports in Gdynia, Gdańsk and Szczecin-Swinoujscie with the support of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion at the Embassy in the Czech Republic and the Association of Forwarding and Logistics of the Czech Republic. The meeting included nearly eighty representatives of Czech logistics and forwarding companies, who listened with interest to the presentation of the offer of particular Polish ports.
