Four offers had been submitted at the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. in an open tender for “Reconstruction of the Slovakian Quay at the Port of Gdynia” announced on 3 August this year. They have been opened today.
A quick reminder – on 10 August this year, offers for the reconstruction of the Italian Quay had been opened at the official seat of the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A.
Both investments are part of a larger project applying for UE co-financing within the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020 called “Dredging of the Approach Fairway and Internal Basins at the Port of Gdynia – stages I & III and Reconstruction of Quays at the Port of Gdynia – stages II & III, no. 3.2-10.”
One of this project’s tasks is to dredge the approach fairway and the harbour’s internal basins. Due to the fact that dredging works are carried out at the Port Channel and port basins to –16 m, it became necessary to reconstruct quays adjacent to the Channel, whose present structures do not allow such depth. This is why the Port Authority carries out works adjusting the Slovakian Quay, the Italian Quay and – further on – the Norwegian Quay.
The estimated amount the PoGA S.A. intends to allocate on the reconstruction of the Slovakian Quay is 18.98 million PLN gross. The price range in all four submitted offers is between 16.5 and 22.02 million PLN. At present works of the Tender Committee are in progress and will close with choosing the contractor of the investment that consists in erecting a new wall along the entire length of the quay in form of an anchored palisade wall topped with a new reinforced capping beam. The quay will be equipped with buffer devices, mooring posts and exit ladders.
Soon another tender will be announced – this time for the reconstruction of the Norwegian Quay.
