In Chorzów, on 5-6 December 2019 the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor Forum took place. It is the only Polish cyclical meeting of regional and local authorities, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, transport infrastructure supervisors, seaports, logistic operators and also special economic zones, universities and other stakeholders interested in benefits coming from the Baltic-Adriatic Transport Corridor.
The subject of the forum traditionally included main challenges regarding the completion of the infrastructure in Polish areas of the corridor and new directions for the development of the TSL (transport-shipping-logistics) industry in view of transport and logistic investments in the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor in Poland.
This year the main topic of the Forum was the key role of the Silesian Voivodeship as the intermodal corridor hub, Polish-Swedish cooperation platform for a cohesive development of the Baltic-Link and Baltic-Adriatic corridors on the basis of sea motorways, as well as opening of transport corridors towards the Black Sea.
A very important accent of the Forum was the signing of the cooperation declaration between the Association of Polish Regions of the Baltic-Adriatic Transport Corridor and agreement between operators of cargo handling terminals and logistics centres in Central and Eastern Europe. Cooperation of declaration signatories will consist in mutual support in terms of information, organization and promotion in order to boost potential and competitiveness of TSL enterprises located in the Polish areas of the Baltic-Adriatic Transport Corridor.
