The Port of Gdynia is the most important and safest Polish passenger port, which for many years has been hosting the largest cruise ships sailing on the Baltic Sea. The Port of Gdynia Authority SA carries out regular activities for the development of the Baltic cruise sailing through the promotion of the port itself and tourist attractions of the city and all of Pomerania. Hence the recent participation of representatives of the Port of Gdynia Authority SA in the trade fair SeaTrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale in the USA. Participation in the fair, which is of great interest among ship owners and the tourism industry, is an opportunity for the Company to establish new business contacts.
"We are pleased that Gdynia has become a port well-known for handling large passenger ships," stressed Adam Meller, the President of Port of Gdynia Authority SA. "I hope that the number of passenger arrivals at the Port of Gdynia will increase each year, which will be reflected in the number of tourists. It should be borne in mind that the presence of passenger ships in the Port of Gdynia is a great promotion of the port, the city as well as Pomerania," he added.
Let us remember that a significant event of last year’s passenger ship season at the Port of Gdynia was the visit of one of the world’s largest cruise ships – MS "Norwegian Getaway" – a 325.7-meter-long vessel, which brought almost four thousand passengers on 23 June. From May to September 2017, 41 passenger vessels with almost 90,000 passengers on board entered the Port of Gdynia.
