Over 23 000 m³ of warehouse storage capacity put into service on 1 December 2014 and 90 000 m³ put into service today, on the Silesian Quay, have increased storage capacity of the Port Gdynia intended to be used for grains and fodder.
On 9 April 2015 the President of the Management Board of the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A., Mr. Janusz Jarosiński, was awarded by the Governor of the Pomorskie Province with Si Itnt Sua Praemia Laudi for the year 2014 in the category “Economy”. It is a special recognition for the companies in our region.
Transhipments in the amount of 506 000 tonnes of grains and fodder have been carried out at the terminals of the Port Gdynia in March of the current year. The great majority of the operations, 370 000 tonnes, constitute the Polish export of the grains. The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. is pleased with the results, because they confirm the rightness of the almost completed investment in the new warehouses of a total storage capacity of approximately 100 000 tonnes
On March 27, 2015, yet another port investment became the so-called "EU investment" - that is the investment co-financed by the European Union. The project named "Reconstruction of quays in the port of Gdynia - Stage I The Romanian Quay - Phase I", under the agreement for funding under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007 - 2013, was granted approx. PLN 39 million. The total value of the project amounts to PLN 56.6 million
