ms "Port Gdynia"

The ship - ms "Port of Gdynia", built on the order of Aranda Sp. z o.o. for Pol – Euro Linie Żeglugowe S.A (Pol - Euro Shipping Lines SA) will be ship-named on May 21, 2011 at 11.30 in the Gryfia Ship Repair Yard SA in Szczecin. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Mrs Anna Wypych-Namiotko will be the ship sponsor of the vessel. Giving such name to a container ship on the eve of the next year's anniversary of the port is a beautiful accent in the 90-year history of the Port of Gdynia. The ms "Port of Gdynia” is 220 m long and 32.2 m wide. Its capacity amounts to about 3100 TEU, i.e. 20-feet containers.
The container ship is one of a series of 25 similar universal ships type B 178 built in the Nowa Ship Yard in Szczecin. Gryfia SRY SA shall equip the vessel. Ms Port of Gdynia will be utilised by Pol-Euro Shipping Lines SA in Gdynia, which belongs to the Industrial Development Agency SA. The day after the christening of the ship, on 22 May this year, the container ship will leave Szczecin in order to undergo the sea trial manoeuvres before it is passed over to the ship-owner and then it will start regular freight operations immediately.
