Cruise ships were moored at the Port of Gdynia 85 times last year, more than 125 thousand of visitors bringing on their boards. This year their number shall slightly decrease but it still impressive - nearly 60 spectacular cruise ships will call at the Port of Gdynia. The first cruise ship this season that will call at the Port of Gdynia on 13^th May will be Princess Daphne. This ship, measuring 162 m, sails under the Portuguese flag.

57 calls of passenger ships were announced until today. These will be the ones that are well-known from their visits in recent years, as well as those visiting Gdynia for the first time. The ships that are known in Gdynia from the last year's visits include, inter alia, the giant ships honored with plaques in the Aleja Statków Pasażerskich (Avenue of Passenger Ships) last year: AIDAblu (252m) or Vision of the Seas (279m), which with regard to its glass ceilings, large number of skylights and huge windows that guarantee spectacular views for passengers is called "the ship of light". One of the vessels that are to call at port of Gdynia in 2011 is Costa Pacifica that was built in 2009. It is the largest ship in terms of length (290.20m) with gross tonnage of 114 147 GT. Costa Pacifica shall call at the port of Gdynia on 27th May for the first time this season and will visit the port three times. The colorful inspired by music interior of Costa Pacifica provides a lot of varied entertainment, including: 4 swimming pools, 5 Jacuzzi, multifunctional sports ground, jogging route, “Samsara Spa” – double-deck beauty and body care center along with a gym, fitness center and Stardust theatre located on three decks. Costa Pacifica is the first ship that gives its guests the opportunity to make their own record in the modern recording studio. The film fans will also find something interesting – a large-format screen on the deck with a swimming pool displays evergreen film hits. A unique attraction in the form of a Grand Prix simulator was prepared for fans of Formula 1.
The best day to visit the Port of Gdynia in order to see the cruise ships will be 11th June. You will be able to admire as many as 3 ships in the port in Gdynia: AIDAblu (252m), Costa Marina (174.20m) and Gemini (163.80m).
This year's cruise ships’ season will be closed on 17th September with a visit of the ship Gemini measuring 163 m and sailing under the flag of the Bahamas.
