One of the most important container vessel operators on the Baltic, Unifeeder, has decided to broaden and launch a connection between Great Britain and Poland. This new service will allow for a direct connection between the eastern coast of Great Britain and the Ports of Gdynia and Gdańsk.

The inauguration of this new route took place on March 17th 2011. The vessel Merwedijk transported the first shipment of containers from BCT-Baltic Container Terminal Ltd., which provide the service, directly to Great Britain. Once a week, this route will provide regular service between Gdynia - Rotterdam - Immingham - South Shields - Grangemouth - Rotterdam - Gdynia.
