Kolizja promu z suwnicą w Porcie Gdynia

O godz. 8.45 w porcie gdyńskim doszło do kolizji promu Stena Line z suwnicą nabrzeżową Bałtyckiego Terminalu Kontenerowego.  W wyniku zdarzenia  suwnica przewróciła się i poszkodowane zostały 3 osoby. Obecnie trwa akcja ratunkowa.  Bardziej szczegółowy komunikat w sprawie wypadku umieszczony zostanie na witrynie BCT – Bałtyckiego Terminalu Kontenerowego Sp. z o.o.

Konferencja Europejskiej Organizacji Portów Morskich (ESPO).

W dniach 9-11 maja o w sopockim hotelu Sheraton odbyło się Zgromadzenie Ogólne Europejskiej Organizacji Portów Morskich (ESPO) oraz doroczna Konferencja tej organizacji. Gospodarzami tegorocznej Konferencji były Zarządy Portów Gdyni i Gdańska. Konferencja gościła prawie 250 reprezentantów zarządów europejskich portów morskich, operatorów oraz przedstawicieli europejskich władz.  Podczas konferencji omówione zostały kluczowe dla działalności portów morskich tematy, m.in. trendy ekonomiczne, koncesje i partnerstwo publiczno-prywatne, inwestycje portowe oraz kwestie związane z finansowaniem działalności portowych.

ESPO-European Maritime Ports Conference


This year's Conference, hosted by the port of Gdańsk and Gdynia Authorities, will be held on 10-11 May in Sopot.  The participants of the conference will focus on issues related to financing and investments - i.e. the most significant factors determining the development of the ports. The subjects concerning the trends affecting the port sector, regional investment possibilities and legal issues relating to public-private partnerships, as well as licensing and financial potential of the port administrators will be talked during the conference.

Temporary closure of ul Polska


In connection with the ongoing reconstruction of ul. Polska at the section from Karlskrona Roundabout to the Marine Station building and increased motor vehicle traffic during the handling of passenger ships, the Port of Gdynia Authority SA would like to inform about the temporary closure of the abovementioned section of ul. Polska one hour before the passenger ship is moored and during the first three hours after mooring (in accordance with the LIST OF TOURIST SHIPS THAT THAT WILL CALL AT THE PORT OF GDYNIA IN 2012,  available on the website).

Cruise Gdynia 2012 - 72 calls planned


The last year's cruiser season ended on September 17 with the call of Gemini - a 163m long ship sailing under the Bahamas’ flag. In 2011, the cruise ships moored at the port quays of Gdynia as many as 56 times, bringing over 78 thousand visitors on their decks. The largest vessel - in terms of length - visiting Gdynia in 2011 as many as three times was Costa Pacifica (290.20 m) built in 2009.

Guests at the Port of Gdynia


The primary statutory duty of the Port of Gdynia Authority SA is to care about the condition and development of the port infrastructure and  it has been successfully fulfilled for many years. However, it is not the only "apple of an eye" of PGA SA - its daily activities also include taking care of the environment and historic buildings located in the area administered by the company.

The prestigious title of "Patron of Culture in Sopot"


The prestigious title of "Patron of Culture in Sopot" for 2011 has been awarded to the The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A.

The award was presented by Mr Jacek Karnowski, President of Sopot, to Mr Janusz Jarosinski, President of the Port of Gdynia Authority on Thursday the fifth day of April, 2012.

PGA S.A. was awarded the title for its generous support and sponsorship of artistic and cultural initiatives which took place in Sopot during 2011.

 

BCT obtained a grant for inter-modal transport


The Baltic Container Terminal and Centre for EU Transport Projects signed an agreement yesterday to subsidize the Company's biggest ever investment program. The grant amounts to 53.8million PLN, and the total eligible expenditures of the project submitted by the BCT exceeds 153 million PLN.

mv Linda Fortune - the largest carrier ever


At the beginning of spring, on March 22nd, mv Linda Fortune - the largest carrier ever shall arrive at the port of Gdynia. The bulk carrier sailing under the Panama flag, is 288.93 meters long, 45 meters wide, with over 18m max draft and the capacity of more than 90 thousand tons.

Straightway organisation visit Port Gdynia


On 14th March this year the Port of Gdynia Authority SA hosted a delegation of Finnish business representatives from the transport industry. Mr Krzysztof Gromadowski - Director for International Cooperation and Public Relations, acquainted the guests who arrived at the headquarters of the company with basic information about the Port of Gdynia and the investments implemented in the port. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the port-related operating companies. At the end of the meeting the guests visited the selected cargo handling terminals.
