Baltic Master II

BALTIC MASTER II
Baltic Master II is a follow -up project to its successful predecessor Baltic Master I which in 2007 was elected as the best European maritime project by the Committee of Regions and the magazine Regional review.

Aim: The overall aim of Baltic Master II is to improve the on-land response capacity to oil spills in the Baltic Sea as well as to enhance the prevention of pollution from maritime transport.

Gdynia - Karlskrona Motorway of the sea

THE "GDYNIA - KARLSKRONA MOTORWAY OF THE SEA"
According to the transport policy adopted by the European Commission, the important European maritime transport routes, including the ones in the Baltic Sea region - can be regarded as the motorways of the sea. Motorway of the sea should help to eliminate the so called „bottlenecks" in the EU transport corridors and promote trade by sea in order to reduce road transport, shorten the travel time and optimize transport costs while reducing environmental pollution.
The "Gdynia - Karlskrona Motorway of the sea" project focuses on the investments in infrastructure and logistics operations necessary to handle the increasing trade exchange between Sweden, Poland and other European countries and particularly the ferry connection from Gdynia to Karlskrona.
