Project Infrastructure of road and railway access to the Eastern part of Port of Gdynia consists of two stages:
The project realization will improve the road and railway access to terminals in the Eastern part of Port of Gdynia. Polska Street, Chrzanowskiego Street and Wendy Street road line makes a part of Gdynia communication system related to VI Transport Corridor of TEN-T net and will link the east area of Port with the motorway A1. Polska Street is an element that is necessary in assurance of an easy, quick and efficient road access to the Port Gdynia. It extends two-lane roads route leading to the Port, including Tricity Ring-Road, Kwiatkowskiego Flyover, Wiśniewskiego and Polska streets. The road is an important element of an access to a new Ferry Terminal which is planned in the future at Polish and Finnish quays, making a main traffic route in the eastern part of Port of Gdynia. Then, the reconstruction of a railway structure will improve a railway access to terminals situated at Polish Quay and will allow to conduct rail wagons un/loading by a heavy port equipment, which will enable transhipment in intermodal systems. An effect of the project realization will be mainly an increase of the capacity of the road and railway systems both. Furthermore, it will intensify a fluency of a road traffic and improve its safety. Technically the road surface will have a greater bearing capacity. It also meaningly will increase the number of parking places for trucks waiting for a port service and for personal cars. This investment relates directly also to Motorways of the Sea programme as well as to the Short Sea Shipping. It was found as a priority in the INTERREG III programme where it received the subsidy for the preliminary concept and feasibility study (SEBTrans-Link Project, 2005).
This investment is featured, with the "key project" status, with the number POIiS 7.2 - 2, in the indicative projects list for Operational Programme - Infrastructure and Environment 2007 - 2013, Priority Axis no. VII - Environment-Friendly Transport, Activity no. 7.2 Development of Sea Transport.

The work schedule assumes the construction of the road access during 2008 - 2010 and of the railway access (with the road elements) during 2010 - 2011. According to the detailed schedule for construction works, planned termination of the works in Stage I had to come till June 2010 and then construction works of Stage II had to start. However works have come much earlier, in December 2009. Technical acceptance of executed Stage I of investment took place on December 29th 2009. By the end of May 2009 the advancement of works came to 76,6 %. Until now Polska Street has been expanded into another dual carriageway, situated behind warehouses of the second zone of Polskie Quay. Four crossings and roundabouts has been reconstructed and the construction of car park for trucks at Chrzanowskiego Street has been completed. This car - park, holding over 130 trucks, has been already given into use in May 2009. The construction design respecting of Stage II of project realization was accepted in August 2009 and after this the application for a construction permission was placed. However, getting of the construction permission will extend because of formal reasons. Dates of activities, preparing of documents and obtaining of decisions:
