13.07.2010   Vision of the Seas to visit Gdynia Harbour for the first time.

On 9 July this year at 7:00 a.m. the  Vision of the Seas passenger ship called at Gdynia Port for the first time.  Due to glass ceilings, many skylights and enormous windows providing passengers with great panoramic views it is called the “light vessel”. Built in 1998 with the capacity of over 2000 passengers the Vision of the Seas is 279 m long, 7.7 m draught and 78,340 tonnage.
The giant cruise belongs to the Royal Caribbean International, the shipowner possessing also  the world biggest cruise ship  “Oasis of the Seas”. Amid many attractions on the board there are swimming pools with Jacuzzi and saunas, casino, shops and boutiques, restaurants, drink bars, and deck theatre with 870 seats. For more active passengers sport facilities are available, as fitness centre, jogging path, and climbing wall.
On 16 July the vessel is to be honoured with a memorial plate in the “Passenger Ship Alley”. This season the ship will come four times more, and is to call at the Gdynia Port regularly every once a week. This tourist season a plate will be awarded to one more passenger vessel, the Italian “AIDablu”. The plate is to be fixed on 11 August.
